Supra’s New TRAC-Mini™ Controller Expands Access Control

SALEM, ORE., July 10, 2018 – Today Supra, a leading global provider of entry management systems, introduced the TRAC-Mini™ controller, a compact, rugged addition to the TRACcess® family of products. The TRAC-Mini controller brings access control to virtually any location— from remote equipment shelters to cabinets. Supra is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

The TRAC-Mini controller is a new component in Supra’s cloud-based TRACcess Manager system and works with the TRACcess eKEY® app to allow for access via a smartphone by authorized personnel. The TRAC-Mini controller is ideal for operations managers who protect assets and properties that are often separated from a primary facility.

“The TRAC-Mini controller significantly expands applications for the TRACcess system and is ideal for managing access to remote locations or geographically disbursed sites,” said Casey Fale, general manager, Supra. “The Supra TRACcess Manager system simplifies remote access while handling thousands of locations and users across many industries, including banking, telecommunications, property management, construction and emergency services.”

The TRACcess system uses cellular communication to send permissions to the TRACcess eKEY app on users’ Apple® or Android™ smartphones. The phone provides encrypted system communications so that companies can easily and quickly dispatch employees, contractors or vendors to remote sites. The app communicates with the TRAC-Mini controller via Bluetooth® technology, enabling the user to unlock and access assets anywhere, even in areas that lack cellular coverage. It also transmits data back to the TRACcess Manager system, giving information to operations managers about activity at remote properties.

Each instance of the TRACcess eKEY app includes a user PIN to help protect the key and eliminate the risk and expenses of mechanical keys. Permissions and other functions can be managed 24/7 using TRACcess Manager on a web-enabled tablet or computer. The system also creates an audit trail of access control activity.

“As part of the proven Supra TRACcess system, the TRAC-Mini controller eliminates time and travel costs to escort vendors to remote sites or to rekey or reprogram locks,” Fale said. “It also brings new efficiencies to business operations with data from remote sites.”
